Meike Burow is a Registered Psychologist and a full member of the New Zealand Psychological Society. Her areas of expertise are working with children, adolescents, young people and their families who are affected by anxiety, depression or any life challenges. Meike has received the majority of her clinical training with Dr Paula Barrett, the author of the FRIENDS programme and a leading expert in the field of childhood anxiety. Meike has been running FRIENDS groups in Brisbane, Australia in a variety of settings and was part of the research team that conducts on-going research to ensure the efficacy of the programme.
Emma Barker trained as a Psychologist in London, UK. She worked for 8 years in hospitals, in primary health care and ran a psychological service and groups for students at the LSE University. Since her return to NZ, she has been conducting Needs Assessments for children and adults at an anxiety specialist clinic and is a full member of the New Zealand Psychological Society. She is a fully accredited FRIENDS group's facilitator. Emma is a mother of 3 children.
Both Emma and Meike feel very strongly about working in the preventative field of psychological disorders and are very pleased to be able to offer these groups in Auckland.
